Worthy

She drives the highway to clear her mind and ease her heart. ..When sometimes all she wanted to do was hear his voice. But that wasn’t an option. He’s starting to make her feel like HER past did. Expendable. She promised herself she would never allow another person to project their pain on her.. Pain that made her feel like a muddy foot was pressing against her throat restricting her breath. Everytime she attempted to breathe life into him, he resisted, and threw daggers. She’s strong so she pushed through the pain. She never fully understood why so many times she ended up broken when her intentions, and actions were good. Maybe she would never know… But one thing was clear, her promise to herself would never be broken. She would no longer allow people to make her feel expendable when she always saw the best in them, even on their bad days. Although, the pain was horrible, she coped better each time. The same life  she breathed into others is the same life she loved. Herself. The seconds on the clock tick away to the moment when she will reach the door and turn the handle… Never looking back again.

  2. Hmmm. Great choice she’s made. Tough but for the best. Hope she get no reason to ever backdown from the decision she boldly made. No reason at all.
    Nicely penned. Thanks for sharing

  3. This is the first time I’ve clicked on your blog. I am intrigued by your ability to paint words on a canvas. You are quite the word painter. Are you published? Please accept this suggestion and consider changing the word broke… to broken.
“her promise to herself would never be broken.” Great piece, by the way!!!

    1. Thanks for the kind words and suggestion. No, I’m not published but it’s a goal of mine to be. Also, It’s funny that you say “broken” because I kept looking at that portion, and it wasn’t quite clicking for me. I’ll make that change. You’ve helped a great deal. Thanks a million 🙂

      1. YOU… need to get published and soon. I have one book done (poetry) and am working on a Christian murder mystery. I certainly recognize talent and lady…………….. you’ve got it! Gird up your loins and make it happen. THE WORLD awaits your work (how’s that for some major motivation?).

      2. Whoa. I’m smiling so hard my face will start to hurt shortly. Tehehe. It is the motivation that I need. Later today, I will take time to decide on what I want to write about, and start. Thank you. And major kudos to you for your accomplishments. Please send me a link to your work. It’s no easy feat so you have my respect, and attention. Soon, I’ll be joining you with a voice within the pages for this world to devour.

      3. My work is self-published and one of the first lessons I was taught early in the game: don’t post for-profit materials online. This blog gives me the opportunity vent, talk junk, and meet great minds all over the world. When my new book is complete, I am going out on a larger scale. I hope you understand and learn that all those beautiful words of yours….. can get you paid.

      4. Very nice. Self-publishing is the way I want to go as well.

Yes, the blog is a great space to do whatever you please. Don’t you just love it?! 🙂 Writing is something I love to do, and making money with it would be a bonus for me. The ability to operate in my passion, while providing, is going to be lovely.
